Portrait of Joseph G. Tylka Dr. Joseph (Joe) G. Tylka is a senior key expert and principal investigator at Siemens Technology US. As principal investigator on both internally- and government-funded research projects, Joe guides the development and implementation of manufacturing automation applications, leveraging the latest technologies in machine learning, industrial robotics, and edge computing. A physicist & mechanical engineer by training, Joe's expertise lies in intelligent control systems, machine learning, and industrial software engineering.

Joe received his Ph.D. in 2019 from Princeton University, where his dissertation research focused on virtual navigation of measured 3D sound fields. Prior to his time at Princeton, Joe received his B.S. in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated cum laude with a minor in philosophy in May 2012. He subsequently received his M.A. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University with a concentration in acoustics and signal processing in September 2014.
