Dr. Joe Tylka is the Principal Key Expert for Architecture & Engineering of Intelligent Systems at Siemens Technology, the corporate-level R&D organization of Siemens. As principal, Joe oversees a global technology investment & research strategy for Siemens to deliver scalable intelligent industrial software, systems, and processes, both for internal and customer-facing applications. Working with R&D teams and other technology experts globally, Joe guides the design, development, and implementation of intelligent software systems for Siemens’ application domains like manufacturing and building automation, leveraging and maturing the latest technologies in machine learning, generative AI, and edge computing.

Joe received his Ph.D. in 2019 from the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at Princeton University, where his dissertation research focused on virtual navigation of measured 3D sound fields. Prior to his time at Princeton, Joe received his B.S. in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated cum laude with a minor in philosophy in May 2012.
